2011 Best Science Visualizations

This post is very apolitical, but it is Friday so what the heck.

Have you guys ever gone to wired.com?  Well, it is one of my favorite sites to go to.  One of their blogs, Wired Science Blog, has some awesome pictures I wanted to share.  If you like science, you will love these pics.  Below is one of them, but if you have time, I suggest checking out the entire gallery here.  It is well worth it.

In this H.P. Lovecraft-inspired illustration, breast cancer cells bear tentacle-like projections. An antibody designed to combat breast cancer, called TRA-8, floats in the foreground (green blobs).

  1. Even those harmful elements in nature have a striking beauty of their own. Thanks for the tip on the site Angela

  2. It’s Cthulhu!

Sorry. I couldn’t resist the Lovecraft reference. 😉

  3. BTW, Lovecraft is an apt reference here! (Is “Lovecraftian” a word? It should be.)
